MINI Oil Change

A "Do-It-Yourselfer's" guide to changing the MINI Cooper S
By Bryan Eagle

We were excited to finally perform the oil service on the MINI Cooper S, and it was a simple procedure made even simpler with our special tools.  Here's the dirty details:

  1. Removed oil cap & oil drain plug - drained dirty oil...Yuck!
Checked oil for metallic bits, but found nothing

  2. Lowered car on lift, removed oil filter housing cap with special tool to access oil filter

  3. Tried to install new filter that didn't fit , was Chinese junk  from a European parts wholesaler in Dallas.  Ordered Proper filter from our friend Ken Pejza at Worldpac & installed.

  4. Put the drain plug back in and filled motor with 5 quarts of fresh BMW synthetic oil and closed the cap. Went for a test drive, WHEEE!!!!

Wasn't that easy?  I knew you could do it!!!
