Rhett Hubertus

Today we feature Rhett Hubertus, world famous photographer,

BMW fanatic & manager of recycled parts here at Terry Sayther Automotive. Rhett was born (& raised) in New Braunfels, TX in 1979, you may remember his birthday because it was the same day president Zulfikar Ali Bhutto of Pakistan was executed. Can you still remember where you were when you first heard about it? I can....Anyway, after a rigorous schooling in New Braunfels, Rhett went on to Southwest Texas State University (also known as Texas State) where he graduated with a B.S. degree.

Rhett was always a lover of cars, & after having custom rods/ old cars & making fun of BMWs for four years, he finally got to drive an E30 M3 and was sold. Once he had his own BMW, (1990 318is) he began to work on it all the time. As he was working on it, he found that he needed to replace some of the car's original parts, so of course he started coming to Terry Sayther Automotive for all of his used part needs. He visited Terry's shop as a customer off & on for 2 years, & then after 3 months of unemployment, he joined the team. Rhett started doing odds & ends around the shop, getting familliar with the used parts part of the business. After a few months, Rhett became the Recycled Parts Manager, selling used parts on eBay,from the website & for local customers.

In the fall of 2004, Terry, Debbie & Rhett went on the BMW vintage marathon where Rhett took thousands of photos of the beautiful scenery & beautiful BMWs as the official photographer of the tour. One of his photos was chosen as the cover of Roundel magazine. Rhett recently installed a late model M52 into his 318is, & boy does that kitty purr! One of Rhett's favorite stories is about the time he went to IHOP and found a piece of toast resembling the crucifix which ended up selling on eBay for $18000. Rhett is an aspiring black market baby dealer, all while spear-heading the research feasability of cyborg deer. Rhett is also personally responsible for eating the last deviled egg this past Christmas. Rhett has many hobbies, but some of his favorites include: long walks in the park in his car, driving fast in his car, vintage racing, working on his car, thinking about how much money he can spend on..his...girlfriend....uhhh ..I mean car..
