2002 Engine Mount Problem- Even the leanest, meanest driving machine has its weaknesses. The 2002's Achilles' heel is its left subframe motor mount bracket. Years of hard driving and engine torqueing cause a small crack to develop along the edge of this bracket. Once it's cracked there's no going back, unless, that is, you bring your vintage BMW to Terry Sayther Automotive where we will use our "patented" 2002 bracketology to repair and strengthen your front subframe. After we repair the cracks in the subframe, we reinforce the bracket with a welded-in strengthening plate. No more cracks, no more Achilles' heel, better than new. Now get out there and drive hard!

Oil Pan Modification- One problem for us to overcome in using the S14 M motor in the 2002 body, is subframe clearance for the oil pan! This oil pan is just too big to fit with the narrower engine area in the '02. This means that it's modification time, let's shorten the oil pan to allow us to install this beast.

Putting M3 Transmission Sensors on a 2002 5 Speed Transmission -Here's some cool photos of Rhett getting the M3 transmission sensors section cut out of their original bell housing and fit to the E21/2002 5 speed bell housing, (which did not use these kind of sensors during the time Getrag made these transmissions). More photos coming soon.
